Yesterday was the official release of Firefox 3, and it&#8217;s better than ever. I downloaded it yesterday as part of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spreadfirefox.com\/en-US\/worldrecord\">Firefox Download Day<\/a> &#8212; an attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the most downloads in a single day &#8212; and started using it. I must say it&#8217;s pretty awesome so far. <\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.spreadfirefox.com\/node&#038;id=0&#038;t=264\"><img border=\"0\" alt=\"Download Day\" title=\"Download Day\" src='http:\/\/gabeanderson.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/06\/dday_badge_fox.png' alt='dday_badge_fox.png' \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Some nice improvements I&#8217;ve noticed:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Faster load time<\/li>\n<li>Faster browsing (<a href=\"http:\/\/mail.google.com\/\">Gmail<\/a> is incredibly fast)<\/li>\n<li>Improved user interface (new icons, polished look)<\/li>\n<li>Sliding tabs as you open &#038; close<\/li>\n<li>Auto-URL completion with favicons (those little browser icons you see when you bookmark)<\/li>\n<li>More stable<\/li>\n<li>Google Desktop searches actually open my default browser (Firefox) now instead of IE7 (woohoo!)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Review the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mozilla.com\/en-US\/firefox\/features\/\">top new features<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve downloaded Firefox 3 on two machines now and have helped contribute to the record-breaking attempt.
