Unlike FolderShare, though, Dropbox has some cool added features:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Public link sharing to share any file with anyone<\/li>\n<li>2 GB of free online storage space for public shares<\/li>\n<li>Photo album sharing &amp; viewing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.getdropbox.com\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/gabeanderson.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/dropbox.gif\" alt=\"Dropbox\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.getdropbox.com\/\">Dropbox<\/a> is a great way to quickly share any file &#8212; small or large &#8212; with anyone. Let&#8217;s say I want to share the downloadable <a href=\"http:\/\/www.articulate.com\/products\/presenter.php\">Articulate Presenter<\/a> help documentation with you. Here&#8217;s what I&#8217;d do:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Copy (or move) the file from my computer into my Dropbox -&gt; Public folder (on my Vista machine, the path is <em>C:\\Users\\gabe\\Documents\\My Dropbox\\Public<\/em>).<\/li>\n<li>Once I drop the file in my public Dropbox, I&#8217;ll see a blue icon indicating that it&#8217;s syncing to the Dropbox servers:\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/gabeanderson.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/snag-1616.png\" alt=\"dropbox syncing\" \/><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>When the icon changes to a green checkbox, I&#8217;ll know the file is on the server and ready for sharing:\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/gabeanderson.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/snag-1617.png\" alt=\"dropbox done syncing\" \/><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>Next, I right-click the file and select <strong>Dropbox <\/strong>-&gt; <strong>Copy public link <\/strong>to copy the link to my clipboard:\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/gabeanderson.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/dropbox-copy-public-link.png\" alt=\"dropbox copy public link\" \/><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>Finally, I <a href=\"http:\/\/dl.getdropbox.com\/u\/64503\/AP5_Help_Documentation.pdf\">give you the link<\/a> (here on my blog, via email, or in an IM).
